How to get a Police Clearance in Saudi Arabia

I have a conversation with a Filipino friend asking for information about getting the Police Clearance before leaving Saudi Arabia. So I would like to share the outcome of my research on the process. Below is the procedures for Filipinos:

For OFWs (Overseas Filipino workers) who are still in Saudi Arabia:

  • Get Letter of Endorsement (LOE) addressed to the police. The LOE may be obtained at the Philippine embassy.
  • Copy of passport, iqama, and pay a fee of SR100.00 (P1,140.41)
  • Bring the LOE to the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs for authentication. Present the authenticated LOE before the police authorities for the police clearance.

For OFWs who have already left Saudi:

  • Request Letter addressed to the Embassy stating the purpose of the Police Clearance and email address, if any
  • A duly accomplished Fingerprint Card obtained through the State Police of the country where the applicant is presently residing.
  • Photocopy of passport used in Saudi Arabia clearly showing the applicant’s photograph and all visas. Copy of iqama.
  • Two recently 2 X 2 colored pictures with white background
  • Other relevant document, if any, to support the application for Police Clearance

The fees involved include:

  • Embassy’s notarial: SR100.00 (US$25.00)
  • Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs authentication fee of SR30.00 (US$7.50)

Will Samsung Galaxy S3 be Launch in Middle East on May 16th?

When I am about to enter my details, I came to know that the registration is only applicable to Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and UAE residents. So we don’t know when it will be launched in Saudi Arabia. But I believe it will soon be launched just after it’s Middle East Launch.

According to the recent news from ITP, Samsung Electronics has appointed ShasTech as its authorized maintenance provider for Saudi Arabia for its mobile phone and tablet product.

ShasTech will provide official support for Samsung devices through its chain of iCare outlets in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

According to Samsung Electronics, They aim to build trust among consumers in Saudi Arabia.

"Being our second contract with Samsung in the last few weeks, this agreement reflects the strong presence of ShasTech in Saudi Arabia, as well as its ability to serve the world’s biggest corporations via its iStore showrooms and iCare service centers, in addition to its comprehensive distribution fleet which enjoys high quality logistics," said Eng. Mohamed Ali, general manager of ShasTech.

"The agreement will help Samsung in offering total technical services for its mobile phone and tablet users. An elite team of Samsung experts will oversee and train iCare’s staff on Samsung’s methodologies and techniques using the latest technical methods," he added.

I believed it is a good move from Samsung Electronics, since Saudi Arabia is one country with a great buying power. Some consumers want to check the availability of service centers in Kingdom before buying any gadget. I just hope that someday Samsung Electronics will also lend there gadget to bloggers in Saudi Arabia for review. This is a usual practice in other countries. Although we can always check gadgets in Jarir Bookstore, having the gadget for a few days will be better.

The new iPad Available in Jarir Bookstore with a Limited Qty starting 23 March

According to the information in the e-mail as shown below, the new iPad cost will start from SR 2,399. It will be a very limited quantity.

The new iPad, is the latest model of iPad as released by Apple.
