Black Friday in US, White Weekend in Middle East
Shoppers in United States are aware that the biggest sale through the year can be seen during the “Black Friday” event. Black Friday is the day after the Thanksgiving Day in United States. This is also the day where in shoppers can see big discounts on limited supplied items. The sale event happens in Physical stores as well as online.
Based on the recent report from gulfbusiness.com, Souq Middle East will make an equivalent sale that they will call “White Weekend“. It will happen on 27 and 28 November which coincide with Black Friday. Souq is expecting to receive 10 million visitors in to their websites and mobile apps. Furthermore the news states that Souq.com will partner with 20 major brands and offer exclusive deals.
A similar concept in China, known as Singles Day, recently saw online giant Alibaba generate $9 billion worth of e-commerce sales in one day.
The site further reported that souq.com has partnered with companies including Etisalat, du, Apple, Samsung, Sony, LG, Huawei, Pepsi and Microsoft for its White Weekend deals.
Souq Saudi Arabia will probably join this event, but to whom they are partnering is still uncertain.
Just for information, Souq Saudi Arabia have started adding SAR 12, on their delivery fee.
