Dependent over 25 should find Sponsors or be back to home country
According to the recent news posted in Arabnews.com, dependents above 25 will no longer be allowed to remain under the sponsorship of their parents.
ArabNews reported as follows:
“The Passport Department will not renew the iqamas of residents with dependents aged 25 or above until they transfer their sponsorships and change their occupation,” Mohammed Hussain, a spokesman in Jeddah, told Arab News.
With this recent development, dependent over 25 years old will be forced to look for a green company under Nitaqat so that they can still stay in Saudi Arabia, or else they have to be back to their home country.
As mentioned in the news, the transfer will cost SR 2,000 in government fees, a letter from the employer certified by the commerce and industry chambers, a copy of the original iqama and passport.
This is an important information that I think should be considered in our planning. I ma not not be affected by this news but I believed some of our readers might be affected.
