Pilipino Restaurant: Blue Ribbon Restaurant Review
Missing the native dishes back home? Well, it’s a common nostalgia to those who live in a foreign land. Thank goodness, there’s a lot of Pinoy Restaurants you can find here in Riyadh. So to all newbies and to those who live outside Sulimaniyah District, you may visit this area near PSMMC (Prince Sultan Military Medical Center) and let your appetite be satisfied with the real taste of our very own Filipino Cuisine.
In fact, there are many restaurants here that you can choose from. But let me give you one option that I personally patronize since 2009. It started when I was still working in PSMMC. But even I am already out of work, I still do. Anyway, the taste still remains the same.
The place I am talking about is the Blue Ribbon Restaurant. They serve several variations of food that will remind you of your favorite treats from your mom’s kitchen or special foodstuff from your hometown.
So let’s start from the breakfast. Like any other Pinoy eatery, they also have the tasty combo of egg +rice +fish or meat of your choice or what we used to call it “Tapsi”. But let’s set aside the pork since it’s not allowed here.
Another way to start your meal is the appetizer. They offer our very own Lomi and Bulalo soup. And just to add assortment, they also provide other country style soup like Tomyam, Hototay, Corn and Crab just to name a few.
Now, going to the main course, they provide a long list of menu that surely could elates your hunger. One is the Special Sizzling. You may choose from beef, chicken, fish, and other seafood. But if you want it to be grilled, well you could have it. The most popular are their Chicken Inasal and Chicken Barbecue along with the other choices of fish and beef.
And for those who love food cooked with sauce, you may select from the traditional food we used to have during feasts. Like Menudo, Kaldereta, Mechado, Kare-kare, Pastel, Sweet and Sour, Adobo, etc.
Well, if you can still hold your cravings, let us go on with the other dishes. They have the common food served for lunch like Nilaga, Sinigang, Bulalo, Sinampalukan, Tinola, Ginataan, etc. For those who love vegetables so much, you may try their different style of Chopsuey and Special Pinakbet.
Moving on, let’s have a look at the listing of their merienda. Certainly, Pancit can never be deleted. They offer various types of Pancit like Bihon, Canton, Miki, Sotanghon, Mixed and Palabok. Spaghetti is also available in their list. And to complete the package, here are the other stuff: Spring roll, Empanada, Siopao and Shanghai that you may try.
Lastly, the desserts! These items are hard to miss, especially if your fun of sweets. So here are your options: Leche Flan, Blueberry Cheesecake, Cassava Cake, Egg Pie, Brasso Mercedez, Buko Pandan, Fruit Salad, Slice Cake and Halo-halo.
So guys, if you feel the need to satisfy your cravings for delicious Filipino dishes, you may treat yourself together with your friends and family here in Blue Ribbon Restaurant. This place is really worth of your time and money. Besides it will also make your tummy so full and happy!
