Thanks To Saudi Government for the Proposed 5 Day Per Week in Private Sector
I have been working in Saudi Arabia for almost 13 years and from the beginning I work at 6 days a week and sometime more when there is a need to have overtime. I live with my family in the kingdom for almost 10 years and we only have time to meet and play with my kids once a week. During workdays we all tired.
Upon reading the Arab news article yesterday about the approval of 40 hours per week instead of 45 hours per week, I felt really happy since it will mean more time for me and my family as well as for my other personal needs. My children goes to school 5 times a week and I work at 6 times a week. So having a parallel time with my kids will be really great.
According to recent news at Saudi gazette, the 5 days work with the private company might be implemented within 90 days. Minister of Labor, Adel Fakieh was quoted saying that 40-hour work and a two-day off in a week for private sector employees will come into force within three months.
This post is a form of saying thank you to the Saudi government for bringing such a wonderful decision. I always envied those working with the government since they only work for 5 days and it is good that now there is a possibility of having the same working time with them.
So what about you? Is it an advantage for you to have this revised schedule of work? Let me know your thoughts.
