Warning: PayPal Phishing Scam
Paypal is really new in Saudi Arabia. It is great way to receive and send money if your doing online jobs. I have decided to make this post since not all PayPal users are aware about different phishing scam that phishers are doing just to get hold of somebody’s account. Just this morning I received an email telling that I have purchased $149 from E-bay. Actually I did not use my PayPal account to purchase anything for the last few days. After investigation I found that it is spam which is trying to do phishing for my PayPal data. (Username and password)
So here are the tips on how to recognize it’s not a real email from PayPal.
- [email protected] <[email protected]> – The sender should be coming from [email protected] paypal and not from any email ( See above pictures )
- Links with in the email is not pointing with paypal.com but instead to other tracking address.
- Have you made a recent purchase?
The first thing you need to do if you received something like this, is not to press any link with in the email. It will just give a go signal to the attacker that you are prone to hacking. But instead you need to go to your browser and type directly the url : http://www.paypal.com and put your details.
Because the moment you press any link and you have entered your details in to those links, it will just say bye bye to your Paypal Money because they will for surely transfer all your accounts to them.
So if you receive this kind of email don’t panic, investigate and keep calm. Delete the message immediately.
So don’t fall into this trap. PayPal is good to ease your life in paying and receiving money but it could also be a nightmare if phishers will drain your PayPal money.
tqvm for the information.
